Pewter cardinal resting on a holly branch (palm sized, single-sided)
This 2018 design is from a photo I took of a sweet cardinal while strolling through mother nature at Lemoine Point in the west end of Kingston, Ontario. There seemed to be a few of them wanting to come visit with us as we walked. I also noticed a cardinal in our backyard when we returned home. This was not a regular occurrence, but a welcome one. I decided that it should be the 2018 design and researched the beautiful red bird that seemed to be following us around lately. I read that the cardinal symbolizes hope, joy, health and celebration. I was touched to read this poem by Victoria McGovern:
“May you come to find comfort in and remember: cardinals appear when angels are near. So go now, sit outside and drink your tea. Keep a look out for the little red bird – It is there, your loved one will be.” May this ornament be a celebrated visit to you from a loved one. I think I know the angel who sent the cardinal to me.
