Peace in the Square 2019
Pewter holiday ornament of Christmas tree in the Market Square at city hall in Kingston, Ontario (palm sized)
Kingston’s Market Square was created over 230 years ago and continues to be a place where we greet our local farmers and artisans each week. The revitalized Square is a place to enjoy our community, live music, Buskers and even becomes an outdoor movie theatre every summer. Over 25,000 of us gathered together here in the Square to pay homage to The Tragically Hip on August 20, 2016. It was a bittersweet night full of love, camaraderie and GRATITUDE.
This year’s design was inspired by memories of skating in the Square with my little girl under the majestic Christmas tree and then warming up across the street in our favourite place to enjoy a hot cocoa and indulging in a sweet treat.
I hope this year’s ornament brings forth warm memories for you and your family as well.
